Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” ~Aaron Siskind

The two pretty girls swirling their little hands in the mud in this picture are the main reason I pick up a camera everyday. I don’t want to miss a single moment! They are my treasures. Photos, more than anything else, capture who we are and where we have been. That is why I so appreciate the above quote. Our mind can allow us to forget and to distort – but nothing is more true or can evoke a special memory better than a photo.

I have always loved art in every form and was taught from an age younger than my girls to love photography by the kindest man I ever knew: my dad. I hope I can be even a shadow of the photographer – let alone the person – he was.

So who wants to remember only the posed moments? Stand back…observe…wait…and then snap! Allow me to capture your life as it really is. Be silly. Cry. Laugh out loud. These are the moments that make us who we really are. This I learned from my dad.

Thank you for allowing me the honor to photograph something for you: your family, your child, a favorite piece of scenery. I will quietly borrow it and return it to you as a special memory.

“You don’t take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it. ” ~Author Unknown
